The name, image, and likeness landscape is entering a new phase but college leaders should not lose sight of a longstanding area of concern: Title IX.

When adding in housing, food, books and other costs, the total amount to attend Brown University, Tulane University, the University of Richmond, Williams College and other schools can easily rise to $100,000 per year for those who don’t get scholarships or financial aid.

Students and parents today must ask the tough question: “Will this college stay open over the next four years?”

The typical bachelor’s degree yields a return of nearly $87,000 in the 15 years after students enrolled. The return on investment varies widely by major.
