Northwood University partners with Graduway

With over 50,000 graduates around the world, Midland, Michigan-based Northwood University is now offering BLUE LINK, an effective networking tool for alumni that will benefit thousands of graduates – no matter where they live. Northwood partnered with Graduway to create the platform. Graduway, a leading provider of alumni networking platforms, combines the power of school brands with the connectivity of social networks – helping schools keep in touch with alumni, maximize their levels of engagement and improve overall contact database management.

Through surveys and research, the university found that its alumni want to hire other Northwood graduates, mentor other Northwood alumni and students, and do business with other alumni. They also want to stay connected with their classmates and professors because they are proud to be graduates of Northwood University. BLUE LINK will allow Northwood alumni to connect with one another, as well as with current students for mentoring opportunities.

Northwood selected Graduway to help create BLUE LINK because it provides a network that alumni will find useful and beneficial, according to Arnold D’Ambrosio, vice president of Alumni and Advancement at Northwood University. Graduway enables alumni to sign in with their LinkedIn account, which benefits the more than 65 percent of Northwood alumni currently using LinkedIn for networking. The Northwood alumni department also uses social media to its fullest extent with the Northwood Alumni Group on LinkedIn, Northwood Alumni & Friends Facebook page, the Northwood Alumni Twitter account, as well as multiple regional alumni chapter groups on Facebook.

"It is now time to take our alumni program to the next level, and we feel that BLUE LINK will allow our graduates to interact with each other in meaningful ways. It will also allow our graduates to connect with students for mentoring opportunities," D’Ambrosio said. ‘‘We are very excited to be partnering with Graduway to build an amazing career community for our alumni.’’

We are delighted to be working with Northwood University in making this a big success,’’ Simon Gerstler, director of Graduway added.
