Two college degrees for the price of one

Anna Maria College and Quinsigamond Community College strike innovative agreement
University Business, March 2016

An innovative articulation agreement between Anna Maria College and nearby Quinsigamond Community College (both in Massachusetts) will help fill critical public service jobs.

Under the terms of the agreement, students in public service majors who earn an associate degree at Quinsigamond are guaranteed admission to Anna Maria to complete their four-year degree.

Although articulation agreements are common, this public-private collaboration is unique. The total cost to students for both degrees will be a relative bargain price of $40,000. That’s for tuition only; students who plan to live at Anna Maria will still have to pay regular room and board.

The initiative, called HEART (Higher Education and Active Responsiveness through Transfer), focuses on critical public service areas—including criminal justice, fire science, human services and social work.

HEART is the result of an effort by Anna Maria President Mary Lou Retelle and Quinsigamond President Gail Carberry to find common ground in their public service education programs.
