Nursing students at Blinn College who pursue an associate’s degree can have a smoother transition to a Texas A&M baccalaureate program.

The regional demand for quality nursing professionals was the impetus behind a new partnership between Blinn College (Texas) and the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Nursing. Blinn’s associate’s degree in nursing program is undergoing a curriculum revision to clarify mutually accepted courses, which will allow a smoother transition to the TAMHSC baccalaureate program. … In Tennessee, Motlow State Community College and Austin Peay State University have signed a dual admissions agreement that allows Motlow State students to transfer to APSU with ease, with the process beginning at any time, as early as right after high school graduation. It’s a structured approach for completion of the associate degree followed by enrollment to pursue the baccalaureate, with both institutions providing student advisement. Any academic discipline can be pursued at APSU. … Kalamazoo Valley Community College (Mich.) and Western Michigan University have entered into a reverse transfer agreement enabling students to earn an associate degree by combining their KVCC credits with those earned at WMU. Transfer students who earned at least 45 credits at KVCC are eligible to apply for the retroactive associate’s degree using credits earned at WMU. … In Massachusetts, Mount Wachusett Community College and Quinsigamond Community College have signed a health-career transfer agreement that allows MWCC students to complete general education requirements there and then the remainder of their accredited, radiologic-technology associate’s degree at Quinsigamond. In addition, Quinsigamond students interested in obtaining an associate’s degree in MWCC’s physical therapist assistant program can complete general ed requirements at their home school before completing the program at MWCC’s Devens campus.
