New higher ed president starts tenure at RIT
David Munson, the new president of Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, plans to build upon RIT’s strategic plan, “Greatness Through Difference.”
Munson has 38 years of experience in higher education.
At the University of Michigan, he served as chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and as the Robert J. Vlasic Dean of Engineering for two five-year terms.
Munson was president of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Signal Processing Society.
He also earned the Benjamin Garver Lamme Medal from the American Society of Engineering Education, which honors an administrator for contributions to the art of teaching, research and technical literature, and the advancement of engineering college administration.
