Groundbreakings: University of North Alabama, Bradley University and Babson University

  • The University of North Alabama’s Laura M. Harrison Hall will house the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions and will be constructed on the former site of a science building.
  • The Business and Engineering Complex at Bradley University will unite under one roof the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business.

Laura M. Harrison Hall

University of North Alabama

This hall—which will house the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions—will be constructed on the former site of a science building.

Size: First floor (16,148 square feet), second floor (15,983 square feet), third floor (15,234 square feet) and basement (8,364 square feet)

Features: Four 72-seat classrooms, eight medical simulation labs, three large study lounges, two 72-seat computer labs, two control rooms, one medication dispensing room, one 16-station lab and multiple offices

Anticipated cost: $18.85 million

Expected completion: December 2019

Business and Engineering Complex

Bradley University (Ill.)

This facility will unite under one roof the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business.

Size: Five floors; 270,000 square feet

Features: 199 offices, 26 classrooms, seven shared computer labs and 46 labs

Anticipated cost: $100 million

Expected completion: Fall 2019, with continued development through 2021

Horn Library renovation and expansion

Babson University (Mass.)

This project—which includes the renovation of the 36,000-square-foot Horn Library and a 10,000-square-foot expansion that will house Babson Commons—is part of the university’s preparations for its upcoming centennial celebration.

Size: Three floors; 46,000 square feet

Features: Academic support center, additional offices and classrooms, group study areas, expanded café with two-floor seating areas, and a new home for the expanded Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance

Anticipated cost: Undisclosed

Expected completion: September 2019
