A new 7,000-square-foot freestanding chapel will be the tallest and most central point at the University of Saint Francis in Indiana.

Funds for the $4.7 million structure—designed by a liturgical architect at New Jersey-based Design Collaborative Architects and Planners—came from the university’s $22.7 million Faith and Reason capital fundraising campaign. With seating for 250, the chapel will have a choir loft and adoration space.

The university’s televised Sunday morning mass will continue at the new site, which should be completed in fall 2018.
