This $15.9 million residence hall—billed as the nation’s first entrepreneurial-based academic residential community—is being privately developed by Signet Development (Jacksonville, Fla.) in partnership with the university’s Department of Housing and Residence Education.

Its 90,000 square feet will include four floors of suites, team meeting rooms, an entertainment room, flexible spaces to support the school’s entrepreneurship programs, a resident apartment and a maintenance shop.

Team members on the project, to be completed this year, also include architect Perkins+Will (Miami) and construction manager-at-risk Brasfield & Gorrie (Jacksonville).

With three stories and 40,000 square feet, a new $10.5 million residence hall is being built at the location of a new entrance to the Sacramento-area university. Housing 210 students, the dorm’s features include a large common area on each floor and an expansive overhanging deck that will overlook the campus entrance. A fire pit and barbecues will round out the courtyard area.

The project team includes California-based The Taylor Group Architects (Fresno) and Reeve Knight Construction (Roseville).
