Eye on Retention: Purdue University Redefines "Early Intervention"
Tuesday, May 25, 2010 2-3 pm, ET
Description:
There is no charge to attend, however advance registration is required.
Concerned about retention? Learn how you can systematically identify students at risk of underperforming in a course and make the right interventions early enough in the semester to get them back on track. Case study presented by Purdue University.
This webinar will focus on Purdue's Signals project, which detects early warning signs and provides intervention to students who may not be performing to the best of their abilities. Now available to other colleges and universities as "Course Signals," the software uses predictive modeling to assign students to risk groups and then provides appropriate communications to keep students on-track.
Participants will learn how Course Signals:
Identifies students at risk of under-performing in a course
Provides real-time feedback to students
Provides early interventions, starting in the second week of class
Informs students about available resources on campus to increase their academic success
Can be implemented at other institutions
There is no fee to attend thanks
to sponsorship by SunGard Higher Education.
