Southern University Approves Plan To Cut 90 Jobs In Baton Rouge

The Southern University Board of Supervisors has approved a reorganization plan that will lead to nearly 90 faculty and staff termination notices going out early next year. The Advocate reports that Southern Chancellor James Llorens said an additional $2.9 million in state budget cuts announced Friday will force many of the staff layoffs to come earlier in the spring semester than previously hoped.
