Higher education and business leaders agree that Oklahoma needs more college graduates to keep up with industry demands. But others argue the need to ramp up the state's graduation rates may be overblown.

Though Kean University has been placed on academic probation and could lose its standing as an accredited four-year school in just one year, Ocean County College President Jon H. Larson was optimistic Thursday.

As City College of San Francisco contemplates the unthinkable - that the vast school of 90,000 students would close next year if it loses accreditation - a look at the state's only college forced to close for that reason holds a surprise.
