A roofing worker on a building site at the University of Oklahoma was hospitalized after falling from the building's fourth floor, officials said.

The worker, whose name hasn't been released, fell from OU's Headington Hall at 9:15 a.m. Monday while working on the project, said Dana Birkes, a spokeswoman for Flintco, the construction firm working on the building.

The worker is an employee of Moore-based firm Universal Roofing and Sheet Metal. After the person fell, other workers administered first aid and called 911, Birkes said. The worker was flown to an area hospital, she said.

Flintco's safety policy requires workers at that height to wear safety harnesses, Birkes said.
