When William Jessup University students arrive on Aug. 29, they will finally have access to $17 million worth of expansion and new facilities on the Rocklin campus.
Waiting for students will be 54,000 square feet of new facilities, including a 19,400-square-foot dining area, six new classrooms, a music building with 11 music practice rooms, and an athletic complex with a new arena with seating for nearly 1,100 spectators.
Since breaking ground in July of 2011, University officials have worked to convert several warehouses originally built for Herman Miller furniture into state-of-the-art facilities for its 1,100 students.
This is the second major expansion of the private Christian university since it relocated to Rocklin in 2004. In the fall of 2009, William Jessup doubled its on-campus housing capacity by opening a state-of-the-art, 192-bed apartment building complex.
