Why some people think law school is totally worth the money

As Business Insider began ranking America's best law schools,we decided to consider a crucial question about getting a JD: Is law school worth six figures of debt?/p>

Tuition can reach $50,000 at America's most prestigious private schools, but this spring the ABA Journal reported just half of 2012 graduates had gotten full-time, long-term jobs as lawyers.

Many people in the legal industry (including law school professors) say law school often isn't worth the hefty tuition given these bleak prospects. But there is a vocal group of lawyers and legal educators who have defended the institutions that are their livelihoods.
