Westfield State University faculty vote ‘no confidence’ in embattled President Dobelle

Nearly two thirds of the faculty and library staff at Westfield State University say they no longer have confidence in their embattled President Evan S. Dobelle, who is facing possibile suspension from his job amid concerns about his free spending of university resources.

Sixty-four percent of the faculty and staff who voted over the last four days agreed with the statement that “I have no confidence that Dr. Evan Dobelle can continue to effectively serve as president of Westfield State University,” according to the executive committee of the Massachusetts State College Association, which represents the school’s teachers and librarians.
