Westfield State Foundation chairman urges state to end probe

The chairman of the Westfield State Foundation has urged state investigators to complete their year-long investigation into spending by former Westfield State University president Evan S. Dobelle and others on campus.

In a letter to Massachusetts Inspector General Glenn Cunha, Edward Marth said the university and the foundation have taken steps to bolster financial accountability following the controversy over Dobelle’s spending on travel, hotels, restaurants, limousines and other items.

But the school and the foundation are still waiting for the results of a probe launched last summer by the Inspector General's Office, Marth said.
