Western Michigan University professors' union votes to censure Provost Tim Greene

In a rare step, the Western Michigan University professors' union has voted to censure Provost Tim Greene for his handling of the ongoing issue of gender equity for female faculty.

The censure is designed as formal public criticism to express the faculty's displeasure with the actions of the provost.

"I don't think anybody wanted it to come to this," said Lisa Minnick, president of the WMU chapter of the American Association of University Professors. "This is people at their wit's end. They don't know how else to get the attention of the administration."
