Weber State U announces $3M endowment for arts education

Weber State University officials have announced the creation of an endowed program for arts-integrated learning made possible by a $3 million gift from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation.

The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program will train future educators to incorporate artistic instruction into their content areas as well as provide outreach opportunities to children in northern Utah.

When the Hawkeyes take the field this morning for the annual homecoming football game, thousands of University of Iowa alumni are expected to be on hand to watch.

Returning alumni who don’t make it into Kinnick Stadium likely will be fraternizing nearby – at tailgates, organized reunion events or at bars in downtown Iowa City.
