Wake Tech beats Harvard/MIT in MOOC completion percentage

Students at Wake Tech completed massive online courses at a higher rate than those at Harvard and MIT. Based in part on that success, the community college will begin offering an additional class.

To be sure, the sample size at Wake Technical Community College is much smaller and the completion rate only marginally better, but of the 14,067 students who signed up for the Introductory Algebra MOOC offered by Wake Tech, 6.2 percent earned a certificate of completion. For comparison, of the 841,687 students enrolled at Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 5 percent earned such a certificate.
