When University of South Carolina students start moving back on campus Saturday, they will find more than crates, posters and parents trying not to cry.
They’ll see more freshmen than ever, more black freshmen, a renovated dormitory, and — for those interested in academic administration — four new deans.
USC’s Columbia campus is expecting 4,550 freshmen this fall. For the second year in a row, it will be the largest freshman class in school history.
And, while final enrollment numbers won’t be known until students start taking classes, USC expects to crack the 30,000-student mark on its Columbia campus for the first time.
