URI Pharmacy Dean Steps Down, Interim Named

The dean of the University of Rhode Island's pharmacy school has resigned for a position in California and an interim head has been named.

A university spokesman says Ronald Jordan left the College of Pharmacy this month to become founding dean of the new Chapman University School of Pharmacy opening in Irvine, Calif. He had served as either interim dean or full dean since 2007.

Paul Larrat (LAH'-rut) has been named interim dean. He's a former associate dean of research at the college and has been a URI faculty member since 1992. He will serve in an interim capacity until a permanent dean is selected.
