Reporters hoping to find out more about sexual assault allegations against three University of Oregon basketball players remain largely in the dark after the university blacked out most of the documents requested by media.

The UO’s Office of Public Records Wednesday night released 35 pages to The Register-Guard in response to a request made on May 6 for emails, text messages or other electronic or print records between basketball coach Dana Altman and athletic Director Rob Mullens from March 8 to the present.

Thirty-four pages were blacked out. The one communication that was not redacted was a prepared statement from President Michael Gottfredson sent to Altman. The statement was distributed to reporters and university officials hours after Eugene police on May 5 released a 24-page report that detailed a series of alleged sexual assaults on March 9 that involved players Damyean Dotson, Dominic Artis and Brandon Austin.
