University Of Texas At Arlington President James Spaniolo Stepping Down

James Spaniolo announced Monday he would be stepping down as president of the University of Texas at Arlington, after more than eight years on the job.

“After careful thought, I have concluded it is the appropriate time to pass the baton and let others continue the stewardship of our remarkable institution,” Spaniolo wrote in an email to the UTA community Monday morning. He did not say what he plans to do next.

Spaniolo said he intends to stay at UTA until his successor is selected.
