University Of South Alabama's New Shelby Hall Will Help Recruit Students (Gallery)

Shelby Hall has turned into a recruiting tool for the University of South Alabama.

The new, 155,000-square-foot building, which houses the College of Engineering and the School of Computing, is attracting top-ranked engineering and computer science faculty as well as students, according to school officials.

“It has already been a major factor in being able to recruit talented new faculty members,” said John Steadman, USA’s dean of the College of Engineering.

For example, Steadman said, the College of Engineering hired three new faculty members with impressive résumés who said the new facilities were a “key element in their decision to join the faculty at USA.”
