University of South Alabama Foundation donates money to USA

he University of South Alabama Foundation on Thursday approved more than $1.9 million in contributions to the university.

The money, a semi-annual contribution, targets scholarships, professorships and university programs.

Included in the contribution is $110,000 to the faculty development fund and $112,500 to existing graduate assistantships.

"It makes a difference in the quality of the institution," USA President Gordon Moulton told foundation board members, while also discussing the shortage of state appropriations the university now faces due to the economy.
