The University of South Alabama held a ceremony Friday night to dedicate the Moulton Tower murals and unveil the Wall of Honor as the college celebrates its 50th anniversary.
"It's hard to believe that it's been two years since Alumni Plaza and Moulton Tower was originally dedicated. But here we are during our 50th anniversary year, gathered to celebrate the leadership and university history that this special space represents," said Dr. Joseph Busta Jr., vice president for development and alumni relations, as he began the ceremony.
The 140-foot-tall tower now includes four panels painted by students. Each panel represents the mission of USA: teaching, research, student life, and healthcare and outreach.
Jason Guynes, USA visual arts chair and muralist, worked with students on the 3-year-long art project.
