University of Phoenix enrollment cap resolved

Federal Veterans Affairs officials on Friday said an enrollment compliance issue at the University of Phoenix San Diego campus has been resolved, and veterans can continue signing up for classes uninterrupted.

U-T Watchdog and other news agencies this week reported the campus was told by state officials to halt veteran enrollment in as many as seven degree programs because of a federal rule that caps veteran enrollment at 85 percent of students in any field of study.

The rules are there to keep unscrupulous institutions from exploiting veterans to take advantage of federal aid programs.
