The University of New Haven plans to open its first international satellite campus this fall in Prato, Italy, UNH officials said Friday.
The UNH Tuscany Campus will be housed in an old villa on Prato's historic town square, near the Cathedral of St. Stephen. The university plans to enroll about 35 students this fall and 60 students in the spring of 2013.
UNH President Steven H. Kaplan signed an agreement Friday morning with Lamberto Gestri, president of the province of Prato.
Prato, a hub of Italy's wool textile trade for nearly 500 years, is Tuscany's second-largest city and about 20 minutes from Florence by train.
