University of Iowa President Sally Mason defended UI’s image at the Iowa state Board of Regents meeting on Thursday following the Princeton Review earlier this week dubbing it the No. 1 party school in the nation.
UI officials have been proactive in reducing high-risk drinking on campus by implementing multiple, mutually-enforcing and research-based strategies, Mason said.
“There’s a common perception that there’s nothing that can be done to change the culture of high-risk drinking in a college campus,” she said. “What we’re learning is that’s not true.”
