University Of Central Oklahoma Students Break Record With “Thumb War” Chain

Students and staff members at the University of Central Oklahoma unofficially broke the Guinness World Record this week with 872 people making a continuous chain of “thumb war.”

The unofficial tally tops the previous record of 846 set by the University of Missouri at Rolla.

“We are excited,” said Kay Robinson, director of campus activities. “It was a lot of fun.”

Participants' hands had to stay locked together continuously for five minutes while being photographed and recorded on video. There were 21 witnesses to verify their actions.
