Juliet famously wondered what was in a name, and decided not much. However, for the former Ardmore Higher Education Center, the answer is a lot.
“What is important for us is to rebrand ourselves as the University Center,” said Dr. Steve Mills, director and CEO.
On May 16, Gov. Mary Fallin signed Senate Bill 1111, which changed the AHEC name to University Center of Southern Oklahoma, effective immediately.
However, the changing of signs and reference in public usage has taken time. With the new name now on the building, school officials hope students and the public will begin using the new name.
