University Business magazine and Higher One, Inc. are honoring nine colleges and universities in the summer 2014 round of the “Models of Efficiency” program. “Models of Efficiency,” a national recognition program launched by the magazine in partnership with Higher One in 2010, honors institutions of higher learning that meet the education business and technology challenges of today’s campuses.

Each honoree is recognized for its efforts in streamlining operations, resulting in improved services being provided in less time, often requiring fewer staff hours and at a lower cost.

“Many institutions are realizing the resources they already have can be used to create a more efficient campus,” said JD Solomon, editorial director of University Business. “These nine honorees have demonstrated how innovation occurs when a college takes the time to analyze and understand its challenges, as well as its capabilities. We’re pleased to honor their achievements.”

The summer 2014 honorees are: Madison College (Wis.); Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.): Fairfield University (Conn.); Western Michigan University; Illinois Institute of Technology; Drexel University (Pa.); Houston Community College (Texas); Pepperdine University (Calif.); and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Full descriptions of the summer 2014 honorees’ efforts, as well as application information for upcoming rounds, can be found at http://www.universitybusiness.com/moe. September 1 is the next deadline for submission.

“The summer 2014 Models of Efficiency honorees show how process efficiencies can be discovered in just about every department on campus,” said Marc Sheinbaum, CEO of Higher One. “We are proud to recognize their efforts alongside University Business.”
