UMaine Breaks Ground For $5-Million Planetarium, Observatory

Work is about to begin on a five-point-two-million-dollar planetarium and observatory at the University of Maine.

UMaine officials broke ground yesterday at the site of the Emera Astronomy Center, which will house the Maynard F. Jordan Planetarium and Observatory.

The university says construction will begin in mid-May and the center could open as soon as the fall of 2014.
