The dean of the Honors College at the University of Central Arkansas has been named president of the National Collegiate Honors Council at the national conference in Boston.

Rick Scott won the elected position at NCHC, which represents nearly 900 honors programs and colleges throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

The executive service to the national honors organization entails a four-year commitment from vice-president through immediate past president. Scott chaired the NCHC annual conference held in Boston as part of his duties as president-elect in 2012.

He will preside over NCHC until its 2013 Conference in New Orleans next November.
