UC Santa Cruz apartment buildings undergo $34M repair

UC Santa Cruz will embark on a two-year, $34 million project next month to repair four campus apartment complexes.

Closed for the year, the Stevenson and Kresge infill apartments, which usually house 317 undergraduates, stand shrouded in plastic waterproofing and surrounded by chain-link fencing.

"In short, we discovered that the exteriors of the buildings, while relatively new, were not completely water resistant," said campus spokesman Jim Burns.
