"The University of Tulsa President Geoffrey Orsak has been granted a leave of absence to attend to a very serious health matter of his father in Dallas," a statement the school released Tuesday evening says.
"In the interim, the university's board of trustees has authorized Executive Vice President Kevan Buck to manage the day-to-day operations of the university," the statement says.
TU Vice President of Public Relations Kayla Acebo said she could offer no further specifics about the situation, including how long the leave of absence might last.
Orsak would not be available for comment, she said.
