Tuition Increased $4 Per Credit Hour At Kalamazoo Valley Community College

Kalamazoo Valley Community College will increase tuition by $4 per credit hour for the 2012-13 school year. The college’s Board of Trustees approved increasing tuition 5 percent for in-district students, bringing the current $79.50 per-credit-hour rate to $83.50. KVCC students living outside Kalamazoo County school systems and the Mattawan school district in Van Buren County will pay $136 per credit hour next school year. Out-of-state students will pay $184 per credit hour. Last year, the college charged students a $25 enrollment fee for testing, counseling and parking services for the first time. That fee has generated $688,100, which is rolled into the tuition and fee accounts used for student services, according to Vice President for College and Student Relations Michael Collins.
