Troy University Could Take Top Spot For International Enrollment In Alabama

Troy University could surpass the University of Alabama and Auburn University as the state's leaders in international student enrollment.

Officials at the school, known as Alabama's international university, said today they hope to increase international student enrollment to 1,200 by 2015, up 36 percent from the 2010-11 academic year.

That could push Troy's international enrollment to the top spot statewide.

By comparison, the University of Alabama had 1,036 and Auburn University had 1,022 during the 2010-11 academic year, according to analysis by the NAFSA: Association of International Educators, formerly the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers.
