Times Watchdog: What Will Be Impact Of UAH Losing Top Researcher?

In the past year, the University of Alabama in Huntsville has undergone an abrupt change in the president's office and weathered the voice of concern about the direction of the school.

Now the school has suffered another setback.

John Horack, vice president of research at UAH, has tendered his resignation and will leave next month to become head of Teledyne Brown Engineering's Space System Division.

Understand that, according to UAH President Robert Altenkirch, the school is expecting revenues of close to $100 million in research for this fiscal year and Horack was the overseer of that research enterprise.
