Administrators at Texas Southmost College are hoping their new one-stop shop at the Arnulfo L. Oliveira Student Services Center will make the college application process easier for incoming students.
In a large, open, sparsely furnished space, TSC has its admissions, financial aid, testing and academic advising services.
The setup is designed to handle student registration for the fall semester, the college’s first independent semester from the University of Texas at Brownsville in more than 20 years.
“It’s OK if a student feels unsure or doesn’t know what to do about college,” said Alex Salinas, director of Admissions and Records. “It could be overwhelming, especially if you’re a first-time student, first-generation student.
