SVSU 3.9 Percent Tuition Increase Balances The Budget, Meets State's Best Practices For Funding

Saginaw Valley State University administrators were planning on a 3.9 percent tuition increase to make the budget balance.

The rate met Gov. Rick Snyder’s best practices target of 4 percent or lower for universities, helping SVSU receive $1.9 million increase in state appropriations.

On Monday, the Board of Control voted to raise tuition by about $14 per credit hour to $270.65 including mandatory fees.

In-state undergraduate students taking 30 credits a year will pay $8,120 in tuition and mandatory fees.
