Steven R. DiSalvo, president of Marian University of Wisconsin, was appointed this week as the new president of Saint Anselm College. He will start July 1, succeeding Father Jonathan DeFelice, O.S.B., who will retire this summer after 24 years as president.

"We are thrilled that Dr. DiSalvo has agreed to serve as the next president of Saint Anselm College," said Charles W. Pollard, chair of the Saint Anselm Board of Trustees and Abbot Mark Cooper, O.S.B., chancellor of the college.

"He brings the vision and experience that will serve the college well in this exciting andchallenging time in higher education. He also has a demonstrated commitment to Catholic, liberal arts education and the Catholic faith, which is at the heart of our mission at Saint Anselm."

Prior to joining Marian University in 2010, Dr. DiSalvo served as president and founder of The Hopewell Group, Inc., which focuses on transfers of wealth for individuals, family foundations and corporations. He held the title of Executive Director of the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation, which works toeducate and end the cycle of domestic violence. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Junior Achievement of New York Inc., which inspires K-12 students to be successful by providing business education using volunteer role models.

This wide range of philanthropic experiences follows Dr. DiSalvo's service as Director of Major Gifts for the Capital Campaign at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn.; Executive Assistant to the President at Loyola University Chicago, and Development Officer at Fordham University, New York. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Center for American Catholic Studies at Fordham University.

As the 10th president of Saint Anselm, Dr. DiSalvo will benefit from the strong legacy of success created during Father Jonathan's nearly quarter century of leadership, Pollard and Abbot Mark said.
