In ways big and small, Stacy Klippenstein’s time spent as vice chancellor of student affairs at Montana State University Billings has prepared him for his new job as president of Miles Community College.
On the grand scale, his work as a high-level administrator at Montana’s third-largest university has prepared him for the jump to heading up an institution of higher learning.
But on the smaller, local end of the spectrum, when he and his wife took a house-hunting expedition early this month to Miles City, Billings’ low temperature for the day of 18 degrees below zero got them ready.
“We were going to look for a house at 38 below zero,” Klippenstein said.
After seven years of dealing with all aspects of student affairs and enrollment at MSUB, Klippenstein will reach a longtime goal on Jan. 6 when he starts as MCC’s president.
