Solar Panels To Fill New Roof Of Sangren Hall At Western Michigan University

Western Michigan University received a green light from the state to install a solar photovoltaic system on the roof of the new Sangren Hall.

Pete Strazdas, WMU associate vice president of facilities management, says it could be the “largest solar system array in the Midwest.”

The project will be funded using money left from the $60-million budget for the Sangren Hall building.

Strazdas said his team has a concept plan for a 200 kW photovoltaic array system to be four times the size of the flat, shiny 12-panel PV arrays held up by 18 poles near Miller Auditorium.
