The Continuing Education unit of Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism offers Prof. Sree Sreenivasan (@sree), one of Poynter.org's 35 most influential people in social media and one of AdAge's 20 media people to follow on Twitter, in a special, advanced social-media class to be held in-person and via a live, global webcast and online chat -- along with two weeks of online coaching.
This innovative workshop consists of a 3-hour in-person group class to be held at the Journalism School and in a live Abode Connect webcast, followed by two weeks of online Q&A and community, curated by Sree and adjunct professors. (On the registration form, select whether you will take course in person or via the webcast. Please upgrade your browser to the latest version available with your operating system.)
This workshop won’t be providing basic information; attendees are expected to come with experience using social media for business. The focus will be on the latest tools as well as best practices and case studies. This will be a fast-paced, tips-filled session. Come ready to learn and ask lots of sharp questions in-person or via the live chatroom.
In addition, we will have short demos and presentations by the creators of new tools doing exciting things in the social space.
If you are looking for a more basic course, check out Sree’s four-week “Smarter Social Media” course which will be offered in the spring 2013. It will be a class that can be taken in-person or via the web from anywhere.
Instructor and speakers: Joining Prof. Sreenivasan will be two digital media experts as guest speakers who will work with the group, Liz Borod Wright (@travelogged) and Linda Bernstein (@wordwhacker), both experienced social media coaches.
