SLCC’s president is finalist for Florida job

Salt Lake Community College president Cynthia Bioteau has been named as a finalist for another job in Florida.

Bioteau is one of two people being considered for the presidency at Florida State College at Jacksonville, according to a report in The Florida Times-Union.

Bioteau came to SLCC in 2005, where she has overseen an expansion of the school’s services for veterans, record enrollment increases and controversy over the closure of the school’s cosmetology program. Prior to becoming the seventh president of the state’s largest community college, she served as vice president for instruction and chief academic officer for Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem, N.C.
