Skidmore College proposes solar farm to provide 12 percent of its energy

Skidmore College has drawn up plans for a 6,950-panel solar farm that would supply 12 percent of the campus’ energy, proposing to place the array on a Greenfield site owned by the college.

The Greenfield Planning Board may hear the plans at its Tuesday meeting.

The suggested site is an eight-acre plot of mostly open land at Denton and Bloomfield roads. The plot is part of a 120-acre parcel the college owns just across the city line near the Saratoga Polo practice fields.
