Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that the company is now shipping its ESC-2 Ethernet-to-serial converter. The powerful ESC-2 allows installers to expand the capabilities of any RTI XP series control processor conveniently by adding two additional bidirectional serial ports over Ethernet.

The ESC-2 works seamlessly within RTI's award-winning Integration Designer(R) programming software for quick and simple setup, and multiple modules can be utilized for virtually unlimited control of serial devices. Two RJ-45 jacks allow standard Cat 5 cabling to be used between the converter and the device being controlled. The ESC-2 is then connected to the local Ethernet network with a standard Cat 5 cable for full two-way control, as if the device were wired directly to the control processor.
