Flash drives, floppy disks and filing cabinets filled with records, some dating to 1957, are now spread between two floors of the state Office of Higher Education.
Now comes the hard part.
More than a half-dozen employees have been charged with sorting through transcripts and records of students affected by the sudden New Year's Eve closing of Butler Business School in Bridgeport, and the Sawyer School facilities in Hamden and Hartford.
"We should have a clearer picture by the end of this week how many students we are dealing with," said Connie Fraser, a spokeswoman for the office. "We need to contact students with good information."
