Quinnipiac U Basketball Players Charged With Assault

Two Quinnipiac University basketball players were arrested on assault charges Sunday after allegedly hitting two other university students as they were trying to break up a fight on campus, police said.

Ike Azotam, 20, of Boston, and James Johnson, 21, of Laurelton, N.Y., were each charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Azotam was released on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at court in Meriden on Sept. 26.

Police said both men were involved in an assault on the university campus around 3 a.m. on Sunday.
